Yes, if the floor is flat enough for the tile. The installer checks the subfloor and plans the layout before setting large tile.

Can new bathroom tile go over old tile?

Sometimes. The old tile must be flat, clean, and firmly attached. Loose tile or a weak floor should come out before new tile goes down.
